A couple of hours ago, I stood in front of the MLK memorial in DC — the first quotation nearest Dr. King’s statue says: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere … whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” The execution of Troy Davis shows that our system of justice is broken, that we are too focused on dealing the harshest punishment even when guilt is in doubt. Dr. King would be deeply ashamed of his home state and it shows that while we can erect stone memorials framed with words, it is our actions that honor memories.
Badass motherfucker of the century.
THIS KID GIVES ME HOPE.
I never thought I’d be giving huge props to someone named Nekochan, but if that’s the environment she’s in, even having a mild catgirl interest in Japanese culture is kind of a success.
You go, Neko. ^5
